Jelena is a post player, born and bred. She has been performing her leadership skills in the center position by battling in the paint on both ends of the floor.
Jelena is a great ball handler which is unusual for players her size. She has the mentality of a point guard which helps her better understand the game of basketball. She is an excellent passer, and proven scorer on every team she has played for.
Also has the ability to use her scoring and passing skills to really change the game. Jelena is a disciplined player who works hard every day and is willing to work even harder for the betterment of her team. She plays solid defense and is able to block shots. Her great physical condition helps her move quick up and down the floor.
OFFENSE: Great hands and tremendous basketball IQ. Excellent passer, who finds open shooters in a heart beat. In transition sees the floor well and is able to throw long and accurate passes. Jelena is also a solid middle range shooter, who will sink baskets from around the perimeter.
Physically strong, which helps her post up in the paint and scores with her back to the basket using a variety of moves such as up and under, hook and baby hook, spin moves, drop step moves, etc.
Not afraid to take responsibility down the stretch of a game, Jelena is a winner and team leader. Able to adapt to virtually any style of the game. Able to finish shots around the basket even when double or triple teamed.
DEFFENSE: Overall big and strong, has a real basketball body, which Jelena uses to real advantage. Physically tough in the paint and able to stop opponents from scoring. Great off the ball defender as well, where she communicats well with her teammates. Gets a lot of blocks, taking advantage of her height advantage and quick hands. Out of great box outs able to crash the boards. Overall, great team defender, comfortable in any type of man-to-man or zone defense.
